A new semester

Christmas break is comin up soon and im so glad cuz I need a break. Its been kind of tough adjusting to college life cuz high school was so different. I like it here at MC tho. Ive met so many people in just one semester. Everyone ive met here is really nice and i like that because it definitely wasnt like that at my high school. Well, ive made my schedule for the spring and im pretty happy with it even though i didnt get the times i wanted for all my classes. Im gonna have so much work to do because im taking 18 hours! Im not too excited about that. But i am ready for next semester to get here. Im kind of ready for next year already..i guess because i'll just be a little older and closer to graduating. I dont want to rush my years here tho becuase im having fun!

Laguna Formal

Laguna tribe had their formal this weekend in Memphis, Tennessee. I went with Meggan (big sis) and Saia (grand big sis) and we all took dates of course. All six of us were packed pretty tightly in a jeep for three hours straight! We got to memphis around 5:00 p.m. Friday evening and checked into our hotel. Then we got a little dressed up and walked right across the street to eat dinner at Bennigan's. Then we went to a club and danced for a few hours. We were pretty tired after that so we headed back to our hotel around 1:00 a.m. to sleep. The next night was the formal! We all put our dresses or tuxes on and went to a place called the tower room. We ate dinner there and then danced once again for several hours. When it was over, we went to our hotel room to change out of our nice clothes and then we went to Beale Street, which is a street downtown where there are lots of clubs and bars and crazy people ha. We walked around for a little while but all the places started to close soon after we got there because most of them close at 3 a.m. and we got there at 2. So, we went back to our hotel room again and we all fell asleep around 4. We checked out of our room at noon Sunday and headed back to MS. It was a pretty fun trip!

My Big Sis

I finally became a Laguna active and found out who my big sis is in the tribe! A big sis is an older girl in your tribe that chooses you as her little sister and she will take care of you like you are really her little sister. My pledge class and i were not told when we were going to be pinned so it was definitely a surprise to me the night our president and all the other actives decided to pin us. We were told to go to a room and sit in a chair. The actives were already there waiting for us. Us pledges were called to the front of the room one by one alphabetically. Once a pledge was standing nervously in front of everyone, their big sister stood up and walked to them to place the pin on their new little sis' s shirt! Most girls were very surprised to find out who their big sis was, but some girls had a pretty good idea who their big sis was. I became extremely anxious just sitting in my chair waiting for my name to be called. When it was finally my turn i jumped up and walked to the front of the room. I stood there for a few seconds while everyone stared and me until my big sis decided i endured enough suspense! She stood up and walked towards me, and i was shocked to learn that my big sis is meggan prince, who is my brother's best friend's sister! We had hung out a few times before this pinning and i never suspected that she could be my big sis, but i am so glad she is because she is a very cool girl. Anyway, she put my pin on me and now i am officially an active member Laguna social tribe!
