Rushing!

So, i am pretty much ready for the rushing into a tribe to be over with now. Im ready to become a member of one. Im not really 100% postitive on which one I want to be in because all of them seem really cool and it seems like it would be fun to be in any of them, but I think I have decided on the order that im going to pref. Once I pref I am going to be so nervous. I dont think I'll be able to stand waiting to see if I got my number one choice. It's too much anxiety for me! Well anyway, all the coke parties and skits I have had to go to have been fun. I talked to a tribe member in every tribe and they were all very friendly. The coke parties were a little boring for me though because they were a little longer than necessary, and I kind of already knew which tribe I want to join and going to these events did not change my mind. Dressing up for the skits was definitely interesting. A lot of girls had some creative outfits. Im not really that creative but I dressed up as best as I could. All of the tribe members came up with different dances and they were very creative and fun to watch. It seemed like they all spent a lot of time learning the dances. I will be happy to be in any of these tribes, and I know that no matter which one Im in I will meet a lot of cool new people and have a lot of fun!

Academic History Essay

So, this essay seems like its gonna be a lot of work. I dont really like writing essays because they are stressful. I always have a hard time figuring out what I want to write about and how I want to word everything so that it makes sense. Once I finish an essay, though, I usually feel pretty good about it and I am always relieved to be done with it. I dont know exactly what material I am going to use for this essay and how I am going to connect the experiences I talk about to each other. Who am I as a student? Im not sure I know that yet. I know that I have always been somewhat of a "good student." Which, to me, means that I usually always obeyed my teachers and, I always tried my best to get good grades. I definitely do not consider myself a slacker because I put my best effort into most things; however, I am a little bit of a procrastinator but I have always thought that I do my best work when I either have to get the assignment done right then (like the night before it's due) or not do it and get a zero. I think as I start to write this paper I will have a much better idea of exactly who I am as a student. These are some of my academic experiences: got in trouble for cheating, had a teacher who would fall asleep in class due to a sleeping disorder, did well on a state writing exam, had a crazy english teacher who claimed she saw a UFO..and she would ask her students if we had any available grandpas, and I got ISD with my friends for skipping classes. Im not sure what kind of student those experiences have made me. To me, most of my experiences seem kind of boring. I havent had any really exciting experiences, but maybe I will eventually be able to figure out what I want to talk about and pull this whole paper together.

Life at MC

I like MC so far. My classes havent been very hard yet so I definitely like that. I like my schedule a lot and i like all of my teachers. They all seem like really happy people. Ive made a few new friends. Everyone here seems really nice and I kind of like that random people that you dont know dont hesitate to come up to you and start conversations. I listened to Dr. Miller speak about MC this week. I thought it was probably just going to be boring, but it wasnt. It was actually kind of inspiring. He said some things that made sense. His speech reassured me that I have a purpose here and I can accomplish many great things as long as I put in a little effort. I think MC is gonna be great for me.

Hey, my name is Lindsay. I am a freshman at MC majoring in nursing. I plan on rushing into the Laguna tribe here. I am from Terry, MS and I have two older brothers and one younger sister. I graduated from Terry High School. I do not play any sports, but I like to go to football and baseball games and just watch. I love listening to music. I mostly listen to rock and rap. I like to shop at the mall a lot, I like to take pictures, and my favorite place to go to is the beach.
